In Uganda — especially Kampala, Wakiso and Entebbe — the rental market runs on physical escorting. A broker drives you to five houses, four are wrong, and everyone loses a day. The broker takes 5–10% of annual rent on the one that works.
WetuProperty replaces the escort with a verified location sold directly. The seeker pays UGX 5,000 — a fraction of a broker fee — and goes alone. The property owner monetises their knowledge without spending a day in traffic, and can serve fifty seekers instead of five.
But a location is only worth buying if it is accurate. That is why we built a verification pipeline before we built a marketplace: site visits, title deed checks, GPS selfies. Every listing earns a badge, and badges decay if the owner does not re-confirm availability. Sellers above a 15% refund rate are suspended automatically. Trust is the product.
Radical honesty about locations
If an address is wrong, the seeker gets a full refund within 48 hours, no questions asked. Refund rates are public. Sellers earn trust by being right.
Fair economics for owners
60% of every unlock goes to the lister. No listing fee, no commission on rent. Owners earn from knowledge, not from closing deals.
No broker extraction
Seekers pay once for information they own, not a percentage of a decision they make months later. The address is not the service; finding the right home is.
